Re: “Review: Little Beast's Ferme Rouge

Wow, Ferme Rouge sounds scrumptious! Is there much of a brett/funk component to the flavor profile?

I appreciate that you evaluate the beers performance on your drinkability scale. That is good info to have when seeking out new beers to try.

Re: “Terrebonne Depot Gets New Owners & Menu

Their business seems getting better and better under the supervision of new owners that got some good taste for passion. Bet they got some good meals to serve.

Re: “A Little Baja in Bend

Looks like another new food cart to check out. I don't like those with too much flavoring.

Re: “Taste of Belgium

I took a deep breath when I read this piece of nonsense review of Trinity. "A lightly sweet banana aroma". "A beautiful mix of banana and clove". What?? "An explosion of coriander ....leading to citrus". Huh? This is a cascading rubbish of "tangy botanical qualities ... " shallow writing gush, striving to seek something that is not there. There's no way a single yeast can bring out such a plethora of dreamlike different flavors all in one mouthful. Only in an imagination bereft of reality can such a taste be experienced. Calm down.

Re: “La Magie Bakery Cafe Closes

Di, you just havent heard people call you a horrible boss because you never have them the respect and attention necessary to listen. I can honestly say that when I worked at this job, the only benefit I found after was the fact that I knew what not to look for in an employer. Stop being fake when there are 15+ people that agree with your awful treatment.

Re: “The Food Cart Guy

Good for you and your family to recover. Be strong, that's what private enterprise is all about. You can become more than just your own success, you can be an inspiration for others. That will be your greatest achievement.

Re: “La Magie Bakery Cafe Closes

I worked at La Magie years ago and to this day it was the worst job I've ever had. Di Long treats her employees with a complete lack of respect and did plenty of shady and unethical things while I was employed. Good riddance!

Re: “The Rhubarb Awakens

When I was a kid, my mom made some jelly with strawberries and rhubarb. I don't have the recipe, but it was exceptional.

The calcium iron oxalates in the leaves are what makes the leaves poisonous. It's the same chemicals that taste bitter and prevent iron absorption in spinach and chard. When I took plant anatomy in college, one of the things we did was examine dissected banana leaves to see the clear crystals of oxalates in them. One of the oxalates called whewellite, is a major constituent of kidney stones.

Re: “La Magie Bakery Cafe Closes

If anyone could get the Eggs Benedict recipe from the owner, that would be awesome! It was my husbands favorite meal from anywhere and Id like to make it for him. I had no idea they were even closing, actually we were planning to go there for the last month for Mothers Day.

Re: “Bo's Falafel Bar Opens

Are they only open select days? I went by around Noon yesterday and the place was dark with no vehicles.

Re: “La Magie Bakery Cafe Closes

Sources are former employees, as is clearly noted in the original article and the post here. Maybe you should talk to them. --Michael Funke
