Re: “A Brick & Mortar for Dump City Dumplings

Congrats to Dump City Dumplings on a hard earned achievement!

Re: “A Brick & Mortar for Dump City Dumplings

While these dumplings may not be as authentic as some culinary snobs (the above nasty reviewers included) would like, I think they are super yummy and they hit the spot more often than not. Congrats to the hard-working locals on growing their popular business in spite of the internet trolls.

Re: “A Brick & Mortar for Dump City Dumplings

Worst news I've read lately. "chinese-style"? Hardly. More like an abomination. These things are terrible. Worst "bao" I've ever had. PS: they're not called "dumplings". Worse than the food? the service. Seriously. It never ceases to amaze me that Dump City is so popular in Bend. I guess ignorance is bliss.

Re: “Sorry to See It Go: French Market Closes

I really like Phil, but they should have improved upon the existing model of the Riverside Market. An improved menu, service, bar, and kitchen, along with the building improvements could have made this spot a huge attraction, and money maker. I wish they would have understood the hood a little better. I miss the market part of the market also. It was so convenient. Make simple high quality food, at an affordable price, and this place will be fun again, and it will flourish.

Re: “Sorry to See It Go: French Market Closes

Very sad, ate there several times last summer and thoroughly enjoyed the experience when paired with an urban bike there and back. Let's hope something new opens up soon!

Re: “Sorry to See It Go: French Market Closes

Yeah, was a total mismatch for the neighborhood. Riverside Market was awesome, casual, great food....French?...Really? No surprise here...pretty sure the Riverside Market didn't have to rely on tourists to survive. Someone buy this spot and transform it back!!!!!

Re: “Sorry to See It Go: French Market Closes

Bring back riverside market!! I really dont like the way they were so anti the people at that business aka the locals who have lived there 3 time longer than any of their customers. Such a blatant act of gentrification and not a damn care about anyone who really would bring business to them. Good riddance.

Re: “Welcome to the Empire

Bridge 99 has my favorite beers by far. They are the only reason Ive made the drive to bend since I first tasted them, especially the porters. Well and the owners are supper cool people to hang out with.

Re: “Nacho Average Tacos

The food truly is amazing at Westside Tacos. Well worth it to find out if you haven't been, or just be like everyone else and keep coming back for more because you already know.

Re: “A Blast from the Prairie

Thank you for showing Oklahoma has a high quality beer culture. While still a small niche, craft beer is taking over the macro consumers with our taprooms. I find it funny how much Prairie gets the spotlight mostly thanks to Shelton Brothers distribution. I encourage you to look beyond to breweries like American Solera, Heirloom Rustic Ales, Roughtail Brewing and Elk Valley. Basically Oklahoma is more than just Prairie and while many aren't available outside the state it may be time for a visit. Prost!

Beer fatigue? Get serious!
I started drinking craft beers in 1985 and am still discovering new tasty brews.
