Why the Source Weekly Should Have Won Last Week's Trivia Bee

Last week, three source staffers - Mike Bookey, Ban Tat (Sales) and myself competed in the Education Foundation's annual Trivia Bee at the Tower Theatre.

We were robbed. Below are three reasons why the Source team should have taken home the trophy:

1. Last year, we competed and answered 9 out of 10 questions right during our round. This year, they beefed up the questions and instead of asking pop culture questions, which we were soo ready for, they asked questions like,"What is the height of  Mt. Hood, within 100 feet?" Who knows that? Where are all of the questions about television?

2. We didn't get to go on until 9:30 p.m., which meant we had ample time to drink a pitcher of beer at Pizza Mondo, throwing off our reaction time.

3. When we didn't know the answer, we wrote "the right answer," which is technically the right answer. Nobody bought it. WTF.

4. We were the only team to correctly answer the last question, Which band is featured in this Honda commercial? (Answer: Vampire Weekend.)  It should have been worth 10 points, meaning the Source should have won.

Seriously, we were happy to participate and help raise money for the education foundation. But next year we're coming back with a vengeance, and we expect some questions about television.
