Sasquatch Plan B

Missed out on a Sasquatch ticket? No Worries, You can still catch many of the same bands at other PacNW venues.

What's that you're lamenting? You didn't get a ticket to Sasquatch before the festival sold out? Well, if you can stop sobbing long enough to read this, I've got a "band"-aid that you can apply to your wounds. (Pun intended). While several Sasquatch bands are performing elsewhere around the region over the next couple of months (I'm sure everyone knows about the LSA lineup announcements so far)... there is one concert from a Sasquatch band happening in Portland that is an absolute must see.

I ranked last year's Yeasayer show at Portland's Wonder Ballroom, as my favorite performance from 2010 (and I saw roughly 170). Yeasayer brings an energy to the stage that is infectious and creates one of the most cohesive audiences experiences I've ever been a part of. Meaning... you dance your ass off when you see them. On May 27th, Yeasayer returns to the Wonder Ballroom, for what is sure to be another crazy dance party and the perfect Memorial Day Weekend kick-off event. If you need the pot sweetened a little bit, opening for Yeasayer is another Sasquatch band you may have heard of... Chicago's Smith Westerns!
Here is part two of a brilliant Yeasayer performance/short film, featured on La Blogotheque, one of my favorite music sites. It shows off their range of talent as well as their ability to connect people with music. Be sure to check out the rest of 83Music's recommended Sasquatch "band"-aid shows.
