Café Sintra, El Jimador Still Going Strong

A couple articles we recently ran caused some confusion that we’d like to clear up. As you may have seen, we misreported that El Jimador was closing. This is not true – instead, the Mexican restaurant has changed its hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A couple articles we recently ran caused some confusion that we'd like to clear up. As you may have seen, we misreported that El Jimador was closing. This is not true - instead, the Mexican restaurant has changed its hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily and changed up the menu to offer more upscale fare. Secondly, we understand a few people were confused over the recent article we ran about Spork's pop-up restaurant in the Café Sintra space. Apparently, the article caused some uncertainty as to whether or not Café Sintra is still open. Sintra lovers need not worry - the café isn't going anywhere. Sintra, the popular Portuguese breakfast and lunch spot, did not close. Instead, the restaurant just lent its space to Spork for two nights during dinner hours. We explained this in our article, which you can read here. Since pop-up restaurants are a relatively new concept and the Spork pop-up was a first for Bend, we understand the confusion. But please, don't stop going to Sintra. They're still open and serving the best linguiça in town.
