Bend Farmer's Market

Don't miss one of the last chances to catch local and Willamette Valley-based farmers bringing their freshest meats and produce to Drake Park. Stop by and pick up some fall favorites, including squash and root vegetables. Mirror Pond at the top of Drake Park, 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Green Drinks

This meeting of green-minded drinkers is actually an international movement that encourages monthly networking among environmentally friendly folk. Bend's event is put on by the Environmental Center and happens at 900 Wall this month. Network, make friends, and most importantly, eat and drink. 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at 900 Wall St.

Friday, Oct. 1

First Friday Art Hop

While First Friday always provides an opportunity to eat and drink your way around town while checking out local and international artists, the semi-annual Art Hop involves nearly every business in downtown Bend. Art galleries, coffee shops, clothing stores and even banks and real estate offices break out booze and food in the name of art. Highlights include a crawfish boil at Bourbon Street Bend and fall-themed artisan desserts at Thump Coffee. 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. The full schedule can be found on downtownbend.org.

Weekly Coffee Cupping

Lone Pine Coffee runs a weekly "coffee cupping" for current and wannabe java aficionados. Lone Pine baristas take you through a methodical sensory experience of a variety of beans - including smelling dry grounds, grounds with a bit of water, then the steeped coffee. This week, they're bringing in Kenyan and Guatemalan beans as well as some of their most popular varieties. Free. 844 Tin Pan Alley, 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Brews and Views

Wanderlust tours combines two of Central Oregon's favorite pastimes - paddling and drinking - into one event. Join Wanderlust for this Brews and Views, where you can enjoy a guided canoe tour of one of Central Oregon's mountain lakes while learning about Cascade Lakes Brewing's beers. $65, wanderlusttours.com.

Scarecrow Festival

It's fall, which means fresh apples and apple cider. You can enjoy both while creating a scarecrow at the Scarecrow Festival at Poppies in Sisters. The popular café is holding
a scarecrow-making contest. Bring your own clothes, boots, gloves and scarves - Poppies will provide materials for building and stuffing your scarecrow. The creations will be displayed at Poppies and patrons will vote on Prizes will be awarded to best dressed, most original, funniest and best use of plaid. Free, 221 West Main St, Sisters.
