Sasquatch Festival: Day two in photos

Photos & thoughts from day two of the 2012 Sasquatch Music Fetival.

What makes a music festival great? Getting better with age. That has certainly been true of the Sasquatch Festival year to year, but also true each year, day to day.

The second day of music this year was flat out amazing. Top honors for outstanding performance easily go to Childish Gambino. One of the stars of NBC sitcom Community, Donald Glover brought some serious heat to the Sasquatch main stage yesterday. His rhymes were tight and his energy level was through the freaking roof! There is no way that this new comer to the hip-hop scene is going to be a flavor of the week. In fact, he is so talented, you're likely to hear more from this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if after dominating comedy and now getting into music, we'll see him performing serious dramatic roles in movies. He's that good at producing different personas.

Also of note yesterday was the Jack White set. During his performance last night I found myself unable to shake the question "When the heck did this guy grow up?"Maybe it's just me, but I guess I just kept seeing him as a young brash rocker and it seems that almost over night he has become this mature fixture in music and is on the road to absolute legendary status. While performing stuff from the new solo record, hits from The Raconteurs. and even a Hank Williams cover song, White wielded his guitar and used the stage with such precision, no one could have mistaken his work for anything other than greatness.

The Roots, Dry The River, and tUnE-yArDs had fantastic sets as well. And if your unfamiliar with any of their music, listen to tracks from all of the bands day two of the Sasquatch Festival had to offer. Then check out photos from Saturday below.
