The Euros are into Enduros, thus it was only a matter of time until Oregon got on board with the downhill-centric, stage-race format.
Bend is the first stop of the 2012 Oregon Enduro series, now in it's third year, and will host the five-stage, two-day race on Saturday and Sunday. The race, which will take place on Funner, Tiddlywinks and Storm King**, is drawing big names from the mountain bike community. Aside from Bend's Carl Decker, and Adam Craig, multi-time four-cross world champion Brian Lopes is also expected to toe the line. While it might be a tricky for spectators to find a good spot post up, interested parties should try the paver drop on Funner, which is easily accessible from south side Century Dr., right around the 5,000' mark.
You can gleam some tips from the pros and satisfy your thirst at tonight's pre-race get together at 10 Barrel from 5-9pm. Come back on Sunday for the after party, slated for 6pm.
To learn more about the race and to register (no day-of registration, today is the last day) visit the Oregon Enduro Series site. To see just how fast you can go our local trials, see below.
**If you're not racing, don't plan on riding these trails this weekend, at least not between 11am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday.
