I love my job and being a baker at Baked because I get to spend time every day with people who think critically, have fun, and have taught me so much about food in the two years that I've worked here. It is, unfortunately, rare to be able to work for a food establishment where you truly feel good about the ingredients that you're using and where they come from—we are very lucky to live in a place where excellent pastured meats and raw milk and cheeses are available, and I'm lucky to work somewhere that trades with local farmers, and would rather pay extra to utilize their product. I love being able to put a pie on the shelf and know the different farmers that grew almost all of the ingredients in it, and also know that whoever eats it isn't just getting a sugar rush, they're actually nourishing themselves, and supporting a community of local food growers.
