HUMP! Tour in Bend on June 5

The epically funny, touching and fully erotic amateur porn film festival started by Dan Savage in 2005 is on tour! The collection of films will be making a onetime appearance Bend—the smallest city by far to see a HUMP! tour stop—on June 5. The sex-advice columnist, who writes Savage Love for weekly papers across the country and is perhaps best known for his LGBT rights activism, the It Gets Better Project to support bullied and struggling LGBT young people, and for helping to coin the term Santorum in response to US-Senetor Rick Santorum's unsavory comments about same-sex marriage.

Tickets for the Bend showing are on sale here, featuring a special post-film performance by Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devil.

"HUMP! started out as kind of a joke," Savage told the Source. "One of my co-workers at The Stranger (Seattle's weekly newspaper) thought it might be funny to put an announcement in the paper that we were going to have an amateur porn festival, put out a call for submissions and see if anyone sent us anything. We got so much stuff and so much of it was so good we decided we would have the festival."

All of the footage is destroyed after yearly the showings allowing participants to be a porn star for a weekend, not the rest of their life. This year is the first time that the festival has gone on the road, leaving its Pacific Northwest home cities of Seattle and Portland to tour the country.
