Update: Two Bulls Fire Now 5 Percent Contained

The Two Bulls Fire is now at a 5 percent containment, according to an update from the Central Oregon Joint Information Center. At the moment, the fire is not in the Bridge Creek Watershed and officials say the Outback facilities are not in the path of the fire.

About 50 residents are still under Level 3 evacuation. The Saddleback/Johnson Road subdivision was scaled back to Level 2 last night, but authorities continue to discourage residents from being in the area if they don't need to be.

Here are some of the key bullet points this morning.

• 6,800 acres consisting of heavy brush and timber
• No structures lost or damaged
• No injuries
• Cause under investigation
• 11 helicopters, 46 engines, 11 dozers, and 708 personnel assigned to the fire
• Estimated costs to date-$1.23 million

For those not in the evacuation areas, officials are still cautioning against spending too much time outside, due to poor air quality.

More information will be available tonight at a public meeting at Bend High School at 6 pm. You can also stay posted by following the fire on social media. It not only has a hashtag, but a Twitter and Facebook account as well.
