Riverbend Brewing
Remodeled a year ago, gone is the stuffy Rivals, with its poker tables and dank carpets. Replaced by a much brighter interior, fire pits outside and revamped menus with made-in-house sauces and local ingredients (like the beef for the burger). Also, brewmaster Dan Olsen has started a modest-sized facility across the parking lot, with classic beers. Riverbend is a serious, old-timers sports bar, where decibel levels raise the roof for Duck and Beaver games, and where several regulars seem to have Jeopardy champion levels-worth of knowledge about football stats. Brother Jon’s Alehouse
Not strictly a sports bar, the downtown Brother Jon’s is a wise choice for the casual sports fan—great food (the bangers and mash is a tasty dish seemingly designed for Chicago Bear fans), sunny ambiance (so that you don’t feel like you’re completely missing the day), and an adequate number of TVs tucked inconspicuously in the corners so that you can carry on a conversation while still slyly watching the Seahawks. 1051 NW Bond
Cabin 22
The ideal spot for the attention-deficit sports fan. With a few dozen beers on taps (22 is the goal number on any given day) and a dozen-plus TVs tuned into different games and matches, Cabin 22 is a pleasant addition to the westside. Although tucked off the main drag of Century, the venue has a surprisingly woodsy feeling (although not that surprising considering that part-owner Mitch Cole also has an interest in Elk Lake Resort). Also, with a high percentage of TVs tuned to baseball games, a great spot to ride out the remainder of the season. 25 SW Century
Hideaway Tavern
If westside crowds aren’t your thing, and you’re looking for a quieter, off the beaten path locale to enjoy not just college and NFL football, but Timbers games (Rose City Til I Die!) and more, the Hideaway is home. With a menu a step above the typical deep-fryer pub fare and 17 beers on tap, not to mention ample couch and table space, this sports bar is a gem for fans who prefer a relaxing yet fun game-day habitat. 939 SE 2nd St
