Summer Music Guide 2016

Music under the stars

Summer music, could two words sound lovelier together? Live music under a deep blue sky on a warm starry night could very well be one of the best things in life. In the 2016 Summer Music Guide, we've included Central Oregon's outdoor music events and a few more within driving distance. From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, (and a weekend beyond), there is something for everyone to experience.

Camping festivals beckon people to come with a tent, hammock, camper or RV to create a community of revelry. Around the country, but especially here in the Pacific Northwest, attending a multi-day camping concert is a summer bucket list affair.

Family-friendly music is often events geared to kids and families, such as the Bend Memorial Clinic's free summer Sunday concerts at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, or the La Pine Frontier Days Music on the Green over the 4th of July weekend.

Small outdoor concert venues in Central Oregon are never short on talent, and these concerts and festivals are a great way to discover new favorite bands. Though we've only included outdoor music in the guide, check Bendsource.com for upcoming concerts at top indoor venues, such as the Tower Theatre in Bend, or The Belfry in Sisters.

Big outdoor concert venues are the premium experience, with a chance to see the best musicians in the land coming through town on national tours. Whether it's a hot newcomer or one of rock and roll's all-time greats, these concerts are unforgettable events for everyone who gets to go. Enjoy!
