Re: “

This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love that your broth is rich but not too salty like some other places in town. The pickled veggies are golden!

Re: “Bend Scores Low in LGBTQ Equality

I wonder who accounted for the two points towards openly LGBTQ elected officials. Oh wait...

Re: “Letters to the Editor

Source Editors:

Since you didn't care to publish the letter to the editor I sent you on July 9, here it is as an online comment which concurs with Michael Funke's letter:

I was deeply concerned to learn over the weekend of allegations against Nathan Boddie. My concern was amplified when I read Nathan's response to the Source, in which he doubled down against what is essentially an allegation of sexual assault. Moey Newbold has a great deal of bravery and integrity and Nathan's response to the Source was character assassination, which is just wrong. Full stop. Wrong.

Nathan approached me as an elected official several months ago with a request to endorse his campaign for state assembly. While I agreed to do so at the time, I can no longer endorse Nathan's political career at any level, and encourage him to drop out of the race as soon as possible so that a new candidate can be chosen by the Deschutes Democrats. The longer he waits, the more damage he does, both to the Democrats and to the greater community.

Re: “Dennis Peron, Americanna Hero

Thanks for this article. In addition to being an advocate for medical cannabis, Dennis Peron was a hero to the LGBTQ community. RIP Dennis.

Re: “Candid Cowboys

While I sympathize with the views expressed in prior comments, it's still good to see the diversity of the LGBTQ community represented through this exhibit. I plan to attend, if only to see a view of the world that lies outside my own day to day experience.

Re: “Eyes on the Money

Roughly a quarter of the city's biennial budget is dedicated to necessary utility infrastructure construction and improvements, most of which are funded through low interest loans from state and federal agencies. Given the magnitude of this effort, the Source might consider giving it a bit more coverage.

Re: “Go Here: Summer Bike Events in Central Oregon

While not specific to the content of this article, I'm surprised that the Source doesn't cover BMX racing in Central Oregon. Six locals are heading to the BMX World Championships in July, including one racer who has qualified for the USA Olympic team. This seems a rather glaring blindspot on the part of your reporters.

Re: “Hazed and Confused

Sad that one of the better films of the year didn't last two weeks at the Regal.
