Re: “Sorry to See It Go: French Market Closes

Shocking...

Hope the future holds something great for this neighborhood space.

Re: “Why do we celebrate 4/20?

Jeez, that reads like you should go smoke some weed!

Re: “Fight for Your Right to Party

Off the top of my head, I can count 26 people in the immediate vicinity (riverfront to riverside, between gilchrist and tumalo) that support the market and want it to stay.

At the preliminary meeting AT the market, every unhappy neighbor, said they wanted the market to stay, they just wanted it to change.

When I asked specifically what needed to change, the answer was "smoking and noise". Done and done.

Re: “Fight for Your Right to Party

I love The Riverside Market & Pub, good times, good people, great location. You won't find another place in town with the flavor of the market. And for some of people, that's a good thing, don't go there.
What I really dislike about the article is that it makes a huuuuuuge leap through time to 2015, as though the way the market is now, has just started.

The market has been serving food and beverages outdoors, since at least 2007.

Its not fair for the article to come off as though it's the market that's the interloper.

Shame on The Source for allowing one mans obsessive crusade guide your journalism.

And the cooking oil thing was PROVEN to be false.

It's been a fun unique presence in the riverside community for a long time. I have made so many friends there, most from the local community. Have also engaged with lots of tourists and newcomers who feel very lucky to have stumbled upon a completely unique place in Bend, Oregon.

Shame on The Source for allowing one mans obsessive crusade to guide your journalism.

P.S. The cooking oil thing was PROVEN to be false.
