Re: “A Climate Action Plan Moves Forward

I hope the council steps up and approves the plan. We need to show leadership and take responsibility for our community, especially when we can't count on that coming from elsewhere.

Re: “Are Studded Tires Really Necessary?

With my winter tires and skid-car training (worth every penny!) I've been able to navigate the last 12 winters in my little front-wheel drive Mazda3. The Snowmageddon of a few years ago kept me off the roads but that wasn't due to the tires I was using...more my back not being able to clear my street because we didn't get plowed until 3 weeks later!

Re: “City Says Mirror Pond Should be a Parks Project

Wow, the city not pay? That means the city believes it receives no benefit at all from Mirror Pond?! What about the taxes from those million- or multi-million-dollar houses that line the west side of the pond? What about all the tourism dollars brought by the festivals in the park...? Sounds short-sighted to me.

Re: “A Ballot Measure on Mirror Pond?

Is this the same Spencer that works/worked for GL Solutions? The company owned by Bill Moseley? Isn't that a conflict?

Re: “Bend City Council: Doug Knight Vs. Bill Moseley

I used to work for Bill Moseley and he is in a word, mercurial. He is constantly changing company policies and procedures so that staff have to constantly change how they work internally and with clients. He is also used to having his way in closed door meetings that change how the company does business. This mode of operating runs completely counter to the democratic process followed by our elected officials. I have been in meetings with Bill Moseley where he has been bullying, condescending and derisive towards people he does not agree with or who he simply dislikes. I have seen his personal likes and dislikes get in the way of him making good business decisions. Based on my personal experience, I cannot say that Bill Moseley will listen openly to public testimony or work collaboratively with city staff to get to solutions that benefit Bend.
