Re: “

Hey, I was the organizer of this event. I just want to say THANK YOU to those who came and supported this event! We got a great reception from the city of Bend! You've shown you appreciate cyclists, appreciate our right to freedom of expression and protest, and can have fun at some silliness.

Ride on, Bend.

Re: “Don't Let Vocal Minorities Erode Alternative Transportation Options

Cars kill people.

Climate change is reaching emergency situations.

Bend, you aren't special. Your personal wealth doesn't make you entitled to drive, you are part of the problem.

What strikes me as the greatest aspect of a long line of Bend hypocrisy is all the mountain bikers, climbers, SUPers, kayakers who live to drive the 4 mile length of this small town.

Get your heads out of the sand and get your ass out of your car.

Re: “City Not Ready for E-Scooters Yet

Scooters could easily replace a large percentage of car traffic in this town because of its size. But it looks like Bend's progress phobia strikes again.

Re: “Who's Ready for the Bag Ban #inBend?

Paper bags actually have a larger environmental footprint.

We need to move entirely away from a disposable society. It's sick really.

Using canvass bags, srsly

Re: “Local Paintings Censored

This is truly remarkable. This is why this town will forever be juvenile, caught in arrested development. Hiding behind the fear of offending people's sensibilities or promoting so-called bipartisan civility is just yet another example of how Bend's hypocrisy reigns supreme. Just 2 years ago City Hall gave a proclamation against hate. Everyone pat themselves on the back and pretended like they cared about the plight of others.

So few that live here have anything at stake in this political climate and they continue to behave as such. Bend loves to act progressive: honoring women, decrying sexual violence, claiming moral high ground when taking a stance against racism. But that's all it is: an act. The second anything of even minute substance enters the foray, everyone shudders, frowns, and wants to whitewash the harsh realities that exist all over this country. Yes, even here. Especially here.

Grow up Bend. Get your head out of the sand. Step down from your pedestal, join us down here, in reality, where people get hurt, murdered, brutalized, raped, and lynched. All in your name, all in the name of civilized society, all in the name of preservation of the culture you enjoy.

Wake up and smell your prejudice, Bend. You stink of it entirely.

Re: “Rent Control

pros: helps poor people
cons: hurts rich people

Wait...that's 2 pros.

Re: “Transparency and listening fall off in appointee process

There is a reason why this process wasn't transparent. I think the people should demand a recap of what really happened.

Re: “Quite Possibly the Strangest List Bend Has Made It On

Negative press could be good for Bend. Maybe help the people here get over themselves just a little bit.
