Anna Karenina

Another period masterpiece from Joe Wright, director of Pride and Prejudice and Atonement. The film stars Keira Knightley (sounds familiar for a Wright flick) as Anna, a 19th-century Russian aristocrat whose high profile affair creates some serious drama. You'll still need to read 800 pages of Tolstoy to get the full experience, but the film offers extravagant visuals to accompany the classic story.
