April Comes in Like a Lion With a Roaring Theater Scene 

Tickets are on sale for Shakespeare in the Park, Tuesdays With Morrie opens and Guys and Dolls comes to Summit High.

Tuesdays with Morrie

Cascades Theatrical Company's production of Tuesdays with Morrie continues through Sunday, April 3. Sixteen years after his graduation, Mitch, a career-driven journalist, begins visiting Morrie, his former college professor, weekly. The visits turn into a last class in the meaning of life. Runs Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm, with Sunday matinees at 2pm. Now - April 3. Greenwood Playhouse, 148 NW Greenwood Ave.

Guys and Dolls

Bend Experimental Art Theater (B.E.A.T.) presents the classic oddball romantic comedy Guys and Dolls at Summit High School April 1 through 3. BEAT brings together Bend's acting youth between the ages of 11 and 19 to perform the familiar Broadway musical that tells the story of a pack of New York City high-rolling gamblers and the women who surround them. 7pm Friday, April 1; 2pm and 7pm Saturday, April 2; 2pm Sunday, April 3. 2nd Street Theater

April brings several nights of celebration in the theater world at 2nd Street Theater. On Friday, April 1, 2nd Street teams up with Bend Improv group to tickle your funny bone for April Fools Day with A Night of Jokers and Fools. The evening features stand-up comedy from Celeste Franklin, Doug Morgan, Kelly Edwards and improv from Bend Improv Group. $8. 8pm Friday, Apr 1.

At the end of the month, 2nd Street plans on throwing a big 10th anniversary celebration show on April 29 and 30. The shows, which they're calling We're Still Here, celebrate 10 years of professional plays and musicals in production at the theater. Each night, attendees will enjoy a champagne reception, and performances from short plays Time Flies, The Hardy Boys, and musical numbers from Menopause the Musical, The Taffetas, Evil Dead the Musical and more. $25. 8pm Friday & Saturday, April 29 & 30. 2nd Street Theater, 220 NE Lafayette Ave.

Shakespeare in the Park

A few weeks ago, Curtain Call told you that Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream would be coming to Drake Park this August, courtesy of Lay It Out Events. The classic play comes to the outdoor stage in Bend and comes to life with help from Portland's Northwest Classical Theater Company.
