Rise Up International has announced two confirmed dates, including Larry and His Flask’s only local show through the end of 2013, for a new series of summer concerts in the Old Mill District.

The LSA Back Stage Shows will be held north of the amphitheater on the strip of grass by the old railroad cars that are often used as greenrooms for the Amphitheater proper. The new concert space, which is right on the river, has a capacity of 700-1000 according to Jesse Roberts of Rise Up.

“It’s a neat little space,” said Roberts.

The first show will be an album release party for the Flask with Americana-grass band Slaughter Daughters from Wichita, KS and local bluegrass boys Grit & Grizzle.

Y La Bamba, who played last year at the Free Summer Sunday Concert Series and just wrapped up a tour with the Lumineers are booked for July 6th alongside rockabilly blues act, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas.

Roberts said that with so many concerts taking place during the summer months, the events were planned on days when there were not many overlapping events.

Tickets cost $7 pre-sale and are available at bendticket.com.

“We’re trying to keep [the shows] low cost,” said Roberts. He added that Rise Up is considering adding more dates to the series.
