BendFilm Opens Tonight

The BendFilm festival opens tonight at the Tower Theatre with a screening of A Beginners Guide to Endings.

BendFilmThe eighth-annual BendFilm festival gets underway tonight with an opening presentation and film screening at the Tower Theatre, followed by a slate of hip-looking parties running late into the night. From what our crack team of movie lovers can tell, this is shaping up to be one of the best years in the festival’s history. Here’s our unofficially official BendFilm recommendations.

At 5:30 p.m. tonight, the festival officially opens with a screening of A Beginners Guide to Endings, a creepily dark comedy that stars Harvey Keitel as a father who submits his three adult sons to a dangerous pharmaceutical test that ends up putting an expiration date on their lives. Opening up the event will be a presentation by famed indie animator Bill Plympton, who will introduce his short film Guard Dog Global Jam.

Tickets are $11 in advance and $12 at the door.
