Newfoundland, Canada-based folk-rockers Great Big Sea sail into the Tower Theatre on Sunday, March 13. The band, who has been together for more than 17 years, plays rock interpretations of traditional Newfoundland folk songs, which often includes sea shanties and songs that draw from their Irish and English heritage. In addition to Celtic-inspired pub songs, Great Big Sea also plays original material. The band couldn't come at a more perfect time, promising an energetic pre-St. Patty's Day show to get you in the holiday spirit.
Now, it may be a little big early on this one, but we just wanted to give you plenty of time to plan ahead for this recently announced show. Get your tickets in advance, and in anticipation of the rollicking good time, check out this live video of Great Big Sea performing "The Old Black Rum" below.
$22/adv, $24/day of show. 7:30pm. Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St.
