Central Oregon Fire Science Symposium Held This Week
Researchers and Resource Managers come together to talk Fire Management
BEND– Beginning Thursday, the Fourth Central Oregon Fire Science Symposium will kick-off in Bend, Ore. The three-day Symposium brings resource managers and fire management specialists together with researchers and students from across the western United States to present and discuss current and up-coming fire science and how it relates to resource management.
The Forest Service, Association of Fire Ecology, Bureau of Land Management, Oregon State University, the Northwest Fire Science Consortium, Central Oregon Community College and the Northwest Scientific Association are hosting the Symposium. All sessions for the Symposium will be held at Willie Hall in the Campus Center at Central Oregon Community College.
On Thursday, March 24, the opening day, the day will begin at 8 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m. Topics for the day include:

On Saturday, March 26, the day will focus on field trips.
