Common Table Opens its Doors

Common Table, the unique restaurant non-profit in Bend, Oregon, opens for business.

Common Table, the non-profit restaurant concept we wrote about last month (see the story here) has finally opened its doors! Common Table opened on September 24 and has seen a steady stream of guests coming in to check out the unique concept.

Common Table, which acts as part restaurant, part soup kitchen and part conversation space, is open seven days a week and features a long wooden table that functions as a common eating space. Common Table is serving breakfast and lunch using farm-fresh ingredients and a small plates dinner. Events also take place on some nights.

This week, Common Table is having the following events:

10/14, 6:30 p.m. Dancing Cow Farm - farmers Jerre and Sean talk about being food producers in Central Oregon. Plates featuring DCF's braised lamb and mojo sauce, tomatillo, lime, cilantro, roasted potatoes. $10.

10/19, 6:30 p.m. Boneyard Brewery - Tony and Clay talk about brewing beer and what makes Boneyard so good. Plates paired with Boneyard beers.

Common Table also has a blog where you can keep up on the latest menus and events. We look forward to checking out Common Table's food and unique concept. If you go, let us know how your experience was! Email [email protected] or leave a comment.
