The Bend-La Pine School District Mission statement, taken from their website, reads in entirety: "Bend-La Pine Schools, in partnership with our community, will prepare each student with the knowledge and skill, confidence and personal integrity to contribute as a thriving citizen in our ever-changing global society."

Instead of working in partnership with out-of-state developers, Bend-La Pine should adhere to their own mission statement and work in partnership with our community, who have quite clearly made their wishes towards Troy field known.

Mankind has been building roads since about 3000 BC, and Bend has been building roads since 1905, but somehow our City Fathers missed the fact that roads also need to be maintained. I don't deny our roads need attention, but I can't believe that The City Council has had no plan in place for funding the on-going repair and maintenance that all roads require from the moment they are completed. If Bend is really that short of money, then obviously Bend can't afford to buy crumbling obsolete dams, and should focus more on taking care of the crumbling obsolete infrastructure we've already got.

I don't deny our roads need attention, but I can't believe that The City Council has had no plan in place for funding the repair that roads obviously require and has seemingly been caught so unprepared that their only solution is to raise taxes. If Bend is really that short of money, then they obviously can't afford to buy crumbling obsolete dams, and should focus more on taking care of the crumbling obsolete infrastructure they've already got.
