Won't Back Down, Fly Fishing Films, Easter, Game of Thrones, Peter Gabriel: Back to Front

Steve Peat just loves racing his bike. And Won't Back Down is a love story, chronicling the veteran downhill mountain bike racer's love affair with the sport—and all the ups and downs, victories, losses and struggles. Yes, the film has plenty of footage showing Peat successfully navigating some pretty narrow-as-the-eye-of-a-needle trails and, yes, just as much footage of him biting it. More than that, though, the film showcases Peat, a tall, blond-haired Brit, reflecting on why he's kept at the sport for so long. Presented by the Central Oregon Trail Alliance and Pine Mountain Sports.

Thurs., April 17, 9 pm. McMenamins Old St Francis School Theater, 700 NW Wall St.. $5

Part of the Fly Fishing Festival, not surprisingly, films about fish and fishing. Some locally produced.

10 am – 4 pm, Saturday, April 19. COCC Wille Hall, 2600 NW College Way. Free.

Locally-produced (as in some of the butcher scenes filmed at Primal Cuts and, yes, recognizable actors, as in the people sitting next to you at coffeeshops), and award-winning (the Audience Awards at the Zed Fest, a low-budget horror film festival in Hollywood!!). This is not a movie about resurrection, but about the opposite.

Sun April 20, 4:20 pm. Tin Pan Theater, 869 NW Tin Pan Alley. $5.

Sun., April 20, 9 pm. Tin Pan Theater, 869 NW Tin Pan Alley. Free.

With songs largely pulled from his So album (oh, you know, "In Your Eyes," "Sledgehammer" and "Don't Give Up"), the concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of the album, and the singer's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Wed., April 23, 7:30 pm. Old Mill Stadium, 680 SW Powerhouse Drive. $15.
