Re: “The Eye Wanders Off Into the Sunset

HBM, your sign-off almost made me want to shed a tear. TSW may suffer a bit, here's my "why that may be so' opinion. Although the TSW complete read is usually time well enough spent, your article's enticed me to reach out and grab it. Your articles were hunted down, read, and usually chewed on. "I'm just tired of being a punching bag", I doubt that, but it's your quote. You were a moving punching bag and you hit hard. I'm gonna miss chewing on your far-out left-wing declamations. Maybe you're a Rocky, a few more comebacks in the future would be a welcomed read. Best wishes friend and please let us know where you decide to put your pen to the paper in the future, because I really doubt H. Bruce Miller is done punching the progressive's point of view into the face of a conservative.

Re: “DADT, Gay-Bashing and the "Icky-ness" Factor

Very well put bendy and I do see the sincerity of your discretion. During the heat of reasoning, right or wrong, a person's God given right, to live as one chooses, gets trampled on. The repeal of DADT moves us forward in the debate. Both sides will now adjust, reset their feet, for a new battle. Hopefully, both sides will be discreet in their desires.

Re: “DADT, Gay-Bashing and the "Icky-ness" Factor

Hey bendy, thanks for you response, here goes the rebuttal. I doubt the military scenario you used is the way business is done in our armed forces. It would take far more than that to have the old policy go into effect. Sexual orientation usually isn't mentioned in the same sentence as "Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?". Family? That's what it is, family, not the military. Child adoption? That would be a private matter and the process would be handled outside the military because I really doubt military personel are allowed to adopt children. Even if they are able to, it would still be a private process. The answer to "Are you married?", is yes or no, nothing more, nothing less. Co-worker? A person should be very careful talking to any co-worker about anything sexual. Have you had that cup of coffee yet? Keep trying because I don't believe you have come up with a reason for anyone in the military to let someone else in the military know they are gay.

Re: “DADT, Gay-Bashing and the "Icky-ness" Factor

Still haven't had anyone answer the question above. Why would anyone have to tell someone else they are gay?

Re: “Free America and Assange: Whatever will become of Wikileaks?

"...on November 26, 2002. Yep, eight years ago - exactly as long as it took Bush-Cheney to turn Clinton's half-trillion dollar surplus into the mess Obama inherited..." Is TSWeekly now lumping the last 2 years of a Democratic congress and President Obama's spending into the above quote? Sounds par to what Obama tells us also, "These problems we are wrestling with today are because of the last administration.". You could have looked better if you would have used six years of Bush-Cheney, six rather than eight to create the mess, instead of using 8 years from Nov 26, 2002 and lumping 2 years of Obama into that mess. But then again, if the last 2 years of spending could be blamed to Bush-Cheney. Why not? Obama does, why can't TSWeekly do it also?

Re: “Council Pondering Historic Water Project

(Some estimates show city water rates increasing by 200-300 percent over the next several years). In another article by TSW, this estimate was 45.5 percent. What changed and why is the estimate in this article 200-300 percent. The two numbers are vastly different. Please do an article on how the rates for water usage has increased since the City of Bend completed their metering requirents for the citizens of Bend. I believe the increase has been 8-10 percent each year.
