Grove, Village...Vegas?

It was The Grove, then the Village Bar and Grill, and now the space at 1033 Bond Street is now known as Seven.

The Blender just caught word that the establishment officially changed hands today and new owner Brian Timme, better known as DJ Metal (who put on several dance nights at Jokers - which is now Boondocks), says that Seven is set up as "an upscale nightclub."

"It's a really Vegas-ey type thing," Timme told the Blender.

Go ahead, toss out your favorite Swingers line.

Replacing the Village Bar and Grill, that only lasted about a year in the location, Seven already is rolling out a starkly different look than both the Village and it's uber popular predecessor, The Grove. But they are, however, keeping the Village's expansive television set up and plan to maintain a steady sports bar (albeit somewhat high-end) presence. Co-owner and veteran bartender Megan Klezk says Seven will be high-class, but will try to keep prices reasonable.

Timme also owns nightclubs in Lincoln City and Newport and has about 20 years of experience in the nightlife industry. He says Seven will soon feature a steady lineup of known DJs and bands and will as often as they can keep the venue free of a cover charge.

The Blender isn't quite sure if this is exactly the time to opening up a high-end nightspot, especially at a location that's seen such rapid turnover. Seven seems to be hunting out a specific demographic that the owners apparently see underserved in the Bend nightlife scene and maybe that's the secret to nightlife success in Bend. But hey, we like the nightlife, and yes, we also like to boogie from time to time, so we wish them the best.
