Ray LaMontagne with Neko Case

Show announced for Les Schwab Amphitheater this May

Posted By on Thu, Mar 1, 2018 at 4:17 PM

Just announced! Grammy Award Winner Ray LaMontagne teams up with Neko Case to tour the U.S.—making a stop in Bend at Les Schwab this May.

ans may already know of the release of LaMontagne's seventh album, "Part of The Life," May 18. However, some of you may not know, starting today through March 4 at 10 pm ET, fans who pre-order the album will be given a code to purchase tickets to the tour early. Tickets are available at: raylamontagne.com, LiveNation.com and, bendconcerts.com
The tour begins at the Sasquatch Music Festival in the Gorge May 27. Then moves to Boise followed by Bend on May 30, then onto Berkeley and ending in Denver, Colo.

LaMontagne will showcase his seven studio albums, five of which have reached Top 10 Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and Billboards Digital Albums chart. The 2010 album, "God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise" won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and the song off that album “Beg Steal or Borrow” was nominated for Song of The Year.

LaMontagne has worked with producers such artists such as Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Jim James of My Morning Jacket.

The American singer and song-writer was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, in 1973. In his mid-20s, he found himself working in a shoe factory, married with two children. It here, while listening to Stephen Stills’ album, "Manassas," he first considered writing songs could be his true passion, according to an interview with Independent.

“I decided to give myself five years to see if I could get an audience for my music, and to tour enough without, you know, destroying things at home,” LaMontagne told Independent.

These days, LaMontagne doesn't work in a shoe factory—good for us, right?

He'll be on tour this summer with indie-rock singer, Neko Case—who, in our opinion, should really have her own show at the Schwab. Also a member of the New Pornographers, she's got pipes, rad lyrics and mad music industry cred.

Yeah, she rocks.
