Even in my youth I'm sure I wouldn't have measured up to Peter Balestrieri's image of a legitimate outdoor studly type. However, I have had to undergo numerous rehabs from injures sustained in the outdoors (not wrestling bears). Thank God for some HARDCORE spin class instructors to push me beyond my pain threshold.

Obviously Peter has either been lucky so far, or is able to chase down pronghorns with his damaged limbs only giving the overmatched beast a fighting chance.

For most mortals, the outdoor adventures have to wait until the body heals. Outdoor adventure and indoor healing are often explicably connected.

Evidently Stevenson gets this and Balestrieri doesn't.
