This small restaurant in downtown Bend keeps a low profile, but it’s one of the best locally owned restaurants for fresh seafood dishes.

An upscale under-the-sea motif decorates the walls of this solid seafood bistro downtown. Traditional and creative dishes include green curry bowls, Thai-style coconut soup made to order, and a plethora of deep fried platters. Other highlights include oysters served several different ways, as well as the surf and turf. Local microbrews on draft and regional wines round out the beverage options. The restaurant is in its 15th year and still under the direction of original owner and chef Mike Rushing, who focuses on varying the menu according to whatever is fresh. Although, you can’t go wrong with the halibut fish and chips that come with three generous pieces of beer battered halibut and breaded fries with your choice of soup or salad. ($21). The Dish: Dinner 5–9 pm Mon-Sat. Closed Sun. Lunch 11-2:30 Mon-Fri. Kids menu, beer and wine.
