Is The Bend OLCC Saga Finally Over?

The OLCC names a new Bend manager and relocates embattled former manager Jason Evers.

It appears the long and winding road that is the Bend OLCC saga may have come to an end with the agency now naming a new regional manager. Also, embattled former regional manager, Jason Evers, will not be returning, but rather heading all the way to the Idaho border.

We've learned that Katy Boyce, who has been with the Bend OLCC since 2005 and served as interim manager since August, will officially take over the Bend region immediately. Boyce graduated from Oregon State and also holds a law degree from Lewis and Clark College.

Evers, who was the subject of a recent Oregon Department of Justice investigation that found he had been overzealous in his enforcement tactics, requested to be transferred to the OLCC’s office in Nyssa, a small town on the Oregon-Idaho border that is some 260-plus miles from Bend. And request granted! He’ll be starting work out there later this month.
