Once a Psycho Always a Psycho: Our favorite insane resumes

At least five actors playing in Seven Psychopaths have played one before. At least one. Some have fine-tuned psychotic behavior to an art form on a whole new cerebral plain. For others in this movie, it just seems to come naturally. Which begs the question, which came first, the psychopath or the actor?

Woody Harrelson: Harrelson’s kooky demeanor and laid-back style can be deceptive as he is completely convincing as a walking time bomb. He embodies an attainable ease that lets you think everything’s okay but do not turn your back on him. Rampart and Natural Born Killers are his edge-teetering tour-de-forces, but equally as goofily disturbed are Zombieland, Anger Management, Defendor, The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio, Wag the Dog, The People vs. Larry Flynt.

Colin Farrell: Farrell has the exploding psychotic temperament down and the bullying physicality to back it up. He’s the guy who’s going to throw the first punch while berating you with expletives because of some misguided dysfunctional inner torture. A smidgeon of his galactic psychosis renderings are Fright Night, In Bruges, Pride and Glory, The Way Back, Intermission, Horrible Bosses, Daredevil

Tom Waits: Usually Tom is the cool sidekick dude who is just a little off, but he certainly let his psychopathic tendencies soar as R.M. Renfield in Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula. Nice one.

Sam Rockwell: Rockwell always seems to be teetering on the edge ready to explode but does so while seemingly having way too much fun. Some of his psychopathic highlights are The Green Mile, Moon, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Snow Angels, Jerry and Tom, Matchstick Men, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Iron Man 2, Box of Moonlight

And the winner is Christopher Walken: With that demonic smile and twinkle in his eyes Walken is the guy who is going to sell your soul to the devil while dancing on your grave. His mischievous grin, bugging wild eyes and explosions in speech patterns commands that you pay attention or be forever damned. It took a while for us to believe anything he did wasn’t psychotic, he was on such a roll for a spell. The list of all things Walken-esque and tantalizingly psychotic is almost his entire IMDB page. Here are the best of the craziest best: Prophecy1-3, The Addiction, Kill the Irishman, Last Man Standing, The Funeral, Nick of Time, Search and Destroy, True Romance, Homeboy, The Comfort of Strangers, King of New York, Biloxi Blues, The Dead Zone, The Rundown, At Close Range, A View to a Kill, New Rose Hotel, Things to do in Denver When You’re Dead, Wild Side, Pulp Fiction, The Deer Hunter.
