Oregon Community Foundation Announces Matching Grant for OSU-Cascades

The Oregon Community Foundation has announced a matching grant for OSU-Cascades 4-year expansion project in the amount of $250,000, with potential to rise to $500,000 by the end of 2014.

A press release explained the parameters of the gift:

The Oregon Community Foundation has committed $250,000 to OSU-Cascades if the campus can raise an additional $250,000 in private support by Dec. 31. In addition, if OSU-Cascades raises a total of $500,000 by the end of the year, the campus will be eligible for an additional $250,000 grant from OCF in 2014, bringing the foundation’s support to a total of $500,000.

This is great news for the OSU-Cascades expansion project which to date, has raised $3.3 million in private support. OSU's donation website confirms that they hope to raise $4 million by December of 2013.

The Oregon Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes from non-profits to arts organizations. OCF awards more than $55 million annually in grants and scholarships.

The Oregon Legislature is expected to vote in the next two-months on Governor John Kitzhaber's proposed $242 million higher education plan, which would provide an additional $16 million to convert OSU-Cascades into a 4-year University.
