Oregon's Chinese History - a look at John Day

Chinese men trying to carve a better life for their loved ones in China played a significant role in shaping Oregon history. This is one of their stories from John Day. Top: The Kam Wah Chung building in John Day built approximately 1870. Bottom: Inside the building - the apothecary and small store that served the Chinese community.
