Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships

What better way to prep for the London Games than to watch some of our local Olympic hopefuls square off in events like the long jump, decathlon, pole vault and, hopefully, the hammer throw. It all goes down at Summit Field where some 1,500 young athletes will converge for a chance to move on to the Junior Olympics. Free All Ages. Summit High School.

Jubel in July with Moon Mountain Ramblers

Enjoy some Americana jam grass, fine brews and local art when The Moon Mountain Ramblers perform at the Deschutes Brew pub for first Friday art walk. In addition to music the pub will be hosting a backdoor BBQ with a Jubelale theme. There will be a reception for past Jubelale artists, including Kaycee Anseth and Cara and Louie. Larry and His Flask

Rhythm on the Range

Rhythm on the Range summer concert series kicks off with performances by The Hit Machine and Abbey Road Live. Hit Machine takes the stage on Friday playing high energy covers from AC/DC to ZZ Top. Jim Lynch Book Signing

The New Old Time Chautaqua

The New Old Time Chautaqua brings their old-timey vaudeville show to the Tower Theatre to make merry and build community through laughter, entertainment and education. Kelly Thibodeaux and Etouffe

Redmond, Oregon is about as far as you can get from the Bayou Country, but that shouldn’t stop you from tossing down a blanket and kicking back with Kelly Thibodeaux’s brand of “swamp rock” in Sam Johnson Park. An honest to Charlie Daniel’s southern rock fiddler, Thibodeaux serves up good time tunes Cajun style. A Louisiana native, Thibodeaux comes by his Southern style honestly and will have the crowds cutting the rug—or turf, as it were—as part of the Music on the Green series. Free.
