But if we need a reminder that fall is upon us, this tour, presented by Rise Up International will do just that. Central Oregon's Last Comic Standing

friday 15

Are you the sort of guy or gal who's looking to laugh at your friends and neighbors? Typically, if you were to answer "yes" to this, that would make you a bad person, but not in this case because Central Oregon's Last Comic Standing is kicking off this week. These are the qualifying rounds during which contestants perform five-minute sets that are voted on by the public. $5 at the door or in advance at bendticket.com. 8pm. Old Stone Church, 157 NW Franklin Ave.

16th Annual Bend's Big Fat Tour

friday-Sunday 15-17

One of Bend's most beloved mountain bike events is back again this year, packing the weekend full of rides, which are not races, but rather low-key chances for riders to enjoy the sport and the scenery. For the more hardcore riders, there are "epic" rides, but the rest of us can ease into "recreational" rides. Visit bendsbigfattour.org for details, schedule and registration.

Matt Hopper & The Roman
Candles, Bryan Free

friday 15

Indie rock songwriter Matt Hopper and his band have released a new record, Jersey Finger, and it's one you need to hear before you check out the Boise-based artist on Friday night. Check out the Sound section for a profile of Hopper and the down low on the new album. Bryan Free opens. $5. 9pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

Skyliners Winter Sports Swap

saturday 16

The weather wizards, high up in their meteorological towers, have mentioned that this winter could be totally gnarly, sick, insane and/or nasty, which is snow-speak for "it's going to be particularly snowy." If that prediction is accurate, then you might want to get down to the Mt. Bachelor Bus Barn on Saturday and buy some used gear at the annual Skyliners Sports Swap. A quarter of the proceeds go to MBSEF. If you have things you would like to sell at the swap, come to the Bus Barn on Thursday between 10am-7pm or Friday between 9am-6pm. 8am Saturday, Oct 16. Mt. Bachelor Bus Barn, 115 SW Columbia Ave.

Lucky I Am

saturday 16

This member of the Living Legends crew, the Bay Area hip-hop collective that's known to stop off in our area on occasion, plays a solo show this weekend as part of the Madhappy Lounge's increasingly cool live music lineup. 10pm. Madhappy Lounge, 850 NW Brooks St.

The Cascade Classic
Cornhole Challenge

saturday 16

Do you know what this game is all about? If not, it's a contest in which opposing teams toss beanbags and wooden structures adorned with a hole in an attempt to land said beanbags in the aforementioned hole. If you're talented at such activities, visit bendsnip.org and register your team for this Bend Spay & Neuter Project fundraiser. Download entry forms at www.bendsnip.org. 11 a.m. Baldy's BBQ, 235 SW Century Dr.
