Enter Celtic rockers Five Pint Mary - our own local version of The Chieftains. You've no doubt noticed that the folk-punk band has been playing around town with greater frequency as of late, and with frequency has come greater polish. League of Women Voters: Telfer vs. Knopp Debate

Former Speaker of the House and Republican party heavyweight, Tim Knopp, announced that he'd challenge his fellow Republican Chris Telfer for her seat in the Oregon Senate and ever since it's been the talk of the May primary statewide. Speculation runs rampant as to why Knopp would take on an incumbent from his own party. What we do know, is that the fur is going to fly, even in the typically staid and scripted event. International Fly Fishing Film Festival

If you didn't get enough fly casting and lip ripping with the Fly Fishing Film Tour in February, or thought that you got enough and now realize that you didn't, you're in luck. Local outfitter Scott Cook of Fly and Field has arranged for the upstart and buzz heavy International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4) to screen roughly two hours worth of B.C. chrome, Costa Rican silver and Canadian pike. And if that last sentence made any sense to you, then pay attention to the next one. This is a one-night, one-show event at The Tower Theatre.
