Each year, to raise money for the Westside Village Magnet School's sports, arts and hands-on learning programs, a group of parents and other community members put together this adult-friendly shindig, which blends live music, excellent food and, as the name implies, beer. This year's lineup includes tunes from Shireen Amini, Mark Ransom and the Mostest, Wild Rye and other acts. Hosted by the venerable Capt. Mosley Wotta, Esq. $25/adv at bendticket.com, $30/door. 5pm-11pm Saturday, Apr 23. Century Center, 70 SW Century Dr.

David Jacobs-Strain
saturday 23
Sometimes we wonder if David Jacobs-Strain ever takes a break, because it seems that guy is constantly on tour and makes several stops in Bend each year. Not that we're complaining or anything because we dig his outlaw country and blues sounds, as we're sure you will, too. Only in his mid-twenties, Jacobs-Strain plays the slide guitar and sings dark, Delta blues better than many beyond his age. Bob Beach sits in on harmonica. $10. 9pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co, 24 NW Greenwood Ave.
Concave Perception Chamber
monday 25
Over the years, this Bend-based instrumental psych-rock band has come and gone and we've not always been sure when they'll resurface, but one thing has been constant: whenever CPC plays, it's not going to be boring. What should you expect at this show? We have no idea, but you'll have some fun. 9pm-10:30pm. Madhappy Lounge, 850 NW Brooks St.
