Just by hearing their name, you know when you head down for The Pimps of Joytime show, you're going to have a good time. This Brooklyn-based foursome blends funk, soul and indie rock, creating beats that have you grooving in a throwback sorta way. Triage Comedy Improv

There's a new comedy troupe in town, and they call themselves Triage...which isn't a funny name, but these people are indeed funny and they make it all up on the spot and stuff. Yes, if we must reference turn-of-the-millennium television programs, this comedy indeed in the style of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" - as in the version with Drew Carey. 7:30pm. $5. 2nd Street Theater, 220 NE Lafayette Ave.

Show Us Your Spokes: The JZ Band

One of the best elements of Bend's outdoor music season has finally begun, and of course, we're referring to the Show Us Your Spokes concert series, which benefits Commute Options. Opening up the series is The JZ Band, a rootsy rock outfit fronted by longtime Central Oregon music veterans David Z and Joe Leonardi. 6:30pm Parrilla Grill, 635 NW 14th St.

Bend Summer Fest

In Bend, one thing is for sure - we love our outdoor festivals. It's time again to block off streets downtown to celebrate the season with live music, vendors and more than 20 restaurants. This family friendly event features the Working Wonders Children's Museum Block of Fun for kids and the Pronghorn Jazz, Wine, and Gourmet Foods Space for adults. Live music runs throughout both days and includes acts like Durado, Person People, Chicago Afro Beat Project, Todd Haaby and many more. 11am-10pm, 11am-6pm Downtown Bend.

Lahaina 33rd Anniversary Show

When we say this is a big art show, we mean it. On this day you'll have the chance to meet ten artists from around the world: Guy Buffet, Jim Daly, Yankel Ginzburg, Hisashi Otsuka, Lyle Sopel, Donna Young, Don Hatfield and Peter & Madeline Powell. The Source got lucky enough to feature the painting "Beach Toys" by Peter & Madeline Powell on this week's cover, which you most likely already saw. 12pm-4pm Lahaina Galleries.

The Itals, E.O.E.

One of reggae's most legendary acts is back in Bend, performing in the wake of a massively well-received show at Bonnaroo just last month. Supporting a new album, Let Dem Talk, the Itals, have been fronted by charismatic and silky voiced singer Keith Porter since the 1970. The Itals are sure to bring a mid-summer island vibe to this show at the Domino Room with some of the purest reggae you're likely to hear. Cross genre hip-hoppers EOE opens. 8pm. $15/adv, $18/door. Celebrate Oregon Author Katherine Dunn

Flip to the Culture section and read an interview with the author of the bestseller, Geek Love and recently published One Ring Circus: Dispatches from the World of Boxing. Vieux Farka Touré

Coming to play this Munch and Music gig all the way from the African nation of Mali, Touré is a massively skilled guitarist who blends traditional African sounds with Western influences. The son of famous guitarist Ali Farka Touré, this guitarist's newest album, Fondo, has received international praise, complementing his stellar live show. 5:30pm-9:30pm. Free. Drake Park
