The junkyard blues-rock outfit is back in town and ready to kick off Bite of Bend with what's sure to be a raucous show at the Old Stone. This Los Angeles-based band blends blues, rock and funk for a quintessentially rootsy blend. The quartet formed at Whittier College as the school's blues band and has since cultivated their sound in LA clubs and bars, but are now on the road for a show at Seven on Friday night and out at Scoots in Sisters come Saturday. 8pm, Seven Nightclub 1033NW Wall St.

Here's another band that might as well buy a house here in Bend (there's plenty for sale) given the amount of times the Tahoe-based jam-o-riffic band plays here in town. The Coyote Music Festival

Yeah this one is a bit of a drive and far enough away to have made it into this week's Outta Town column, but from everything we heard about last year's event, it's worth the trip. While lounging in hot springs and camping with the chillest of the chill that Oregon has to offer, you can take it a collection of regional acts, many of which should be at least moderately familiar to you. Lineup includes full shows from: TAARKA, Empty Space Orchestra, Larry and his Flask, The Dirty Words, Sungods of Cascadia, The Alchemy Three, Monk, Moon Mountain Ramblers, David Jacob-Strain, Empty Space Orchestra. $50 gets you in for the entire weekend. Celebrating with you is Keegan Smith and the Fam, a massive collection of Portland musicians including a full horn section and backup singers.
