Our Picks for the Week of 6/19-6/25

Hillstomp, Quick and Easy Boys

friday 19

If you think there is another Northwest band as loved in Bend as Hillstomp, you deserve a slap in the face, because you're wrong, my friend. The junkyard blues-rock outfit is back in town and ready to kick off Bite of Bend with what's sure to be a raucous show at the Old Stone. Fellow Portlanders Quick and Easy Boys open the show. 8pm door, 9pm show. $10. Old Stone Church, 157 NW Franklin Ave.

Voodoo Fix

friday 19

This Los Angeles-based band blends blues, rock and funk for a quintessentially rootsy blend. The quartet formed at Whittier College as the school's blues band and has since cultivated their sound in LA clubs and bars, but are now on the road for a show at Seven on Friday night and out at Scoots in Sisters come Saturday. 8pm, Seven Nightclub 1033NW Wall St.

Blue Turtle Seduction

friday 19

Here's another band that might as well buy a house here in Bend (there's plenty for sale) given the amount of times the Tahoe-based jam-o-riffic band plays here in town. But this time around, Blue Turtle is playing in the cozy confines of the Silver Moon and it's gonna be nuts. But the good kind of nuts. $10. 9pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra

begins friday 19

Check out this musical production that includes two men, two women and 56 of Sinatra's greatest hits, then read our full review of the show at tsweekly.com by the end of the day Friday.! 8pm shows - June 19, 20, 25, 26, 27; 2pm shows - June 21 and 28. Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St. 317-0700. $21, $26, $31.

Bite of Bend

The annual food, drink, art and music festival is back and bigger than ever this year complete with a Top Chef and bartender competition. You'll find damn near anything you'd ever want to eat at this downtown festival and you can munch down while listening to some top-notch music (see below and the Bite of Bend Guide). Downtown Bend.

Dusty Rhodes and the River Band

saturday 21

This Fullerton, California band is headlining Bite of Bend (see above and the Sound feature) and has become a Source favorite over the past week as we've been pumping the band's new record, Palace and Stage on repeat. 8:30pm, Bite of Bend Main stage. FREE!

The Coyote Music Festival

friday 19-sunday 21

Yeah this one is a bit of a drive and far enough away to have made it into this week's Outta Town column, but from everything we heard about last year's event, it's worth the trip. While lounging in hot springs and camping with the chillest of the chill that Oregon has to offer, you can take it a collection of regional acts, many of which should be at least moderately familiar to you. Lineup includes full shows from: TAARKA, Empty Space Orchestra, Larry and his Flask, The Dirty Words, Sungods of Cascadia, The Alchemy Three, Monk, Moon Mountain Ramblers, David Jacob-Strain, Empty Space Orchestra. $50 gets you in for the entire weekend. See www.coyotemusicfestival for more info. Summer Lake Hot Springs, Paisley, Oregon.

Keegan Smith & The Fam

sunday 21

How sweet is it that the second Summer Sunday is actually on the official first day of summer, also known as the Summer Solstice, which is the longest day of the year? Celebrating with you is Keegan Smith and the Fam, a massive collection of Portland musicians including a full horn section and backup singers. The group is fronted by Keegan Smith (duh) who can give you an Adam Levine-like funk style or a quick-rapping flow - depending on the track. 2:30-4:30pm. Free. Les Schwab Amphitheater, 344 SW Shevlin Hixon Dr.

Father's Day

sunday 21

Give the ol' man a call or get that card in the mail stat!

Bend Pride

monday 22-saturday 27

We'll have more on this week long celebration of diversity next week, but thought we'd give you a heads up that Bend Pride is kicking off on Monday with a special performance of La Cage Aux Folles then continues with an Open Mic for Rights at the Silver Moon on Wednesday night. For a complete guide to events, visit humandignitycoalition.org.

Rainn Wilson

thursday 25

Believe it, friends. The man behind Dwight Shrute is coming to Bend for a talk at the Old Stone. Wilson, a member of the Baha'i faith, will be discussing art and faith. Make sure you pick up the paper next week for the Source interview with Wilson! 7pm-9pm Thursday, Jun 25. Spiritual Awareness Community at Old Stone Church, 157 NW Franklin Ave.
