Choosing the top ten movies of the year is tough, especially in Bend when we haven't gotten the chance to see some of the most raved-about flicks, but at least it leaves room on the list for some awesome movies.

1. THE SOCIAL NETWORK:

Yes, it's on the top of every other list, too, but for good reason. The acting is superb, the content topical and relevant, and the cinematography sublime.

2. BLACK SWAN:

Natalie Portman amazes in this mind-bending psychological thriller.

3. INCEPTION:

We couldn't dream of something this fantastic.

4. THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO:

Lisbeth Salander is tough as dragon scales in this Swedish-language adaptation of the novel of the same name.

5. SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD:

Vegan super powers, visually stunning video game knock-outs, and a killer soundtrack. There isn't much better.

6. EASY A:

One of the smartest and most hilarious comedies of the year; Emma Stone made me burst out in uncontrollable laughter.

7. THE TOWN:

Ben Affleck stars in and directs the crime drama that stands head and shoulders above others in the genre for its phenomenal acting and storytelling.

8. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1:

This may be the best film in the legendary series, and it left fans aching for the last and final chapter.

9. LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS:

Based on Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal's charm and chemistry, this is by far the best romantic comedy of 2010.

10. THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT:

Some of the best acting of the year.
