Out of Town 6/12 - 6/20

wednesday 12- sunday 16

Portland Pride Week

Our neighbors to the north have jumped on the same-sex marriage choo-choo train; time to show those Washingtonians that Oregon supports equal rights, too! But don't just go to Pride 2013 out of spite that Washington is more socially advanced. The event is going to be a hoot and a half with a full week of events, including a comedy night, musical production of Avenue Q, a festival in the park and, of course, the 43rd annual Pride Parade on Saturday. Last year, Sharon Needles, the freaky artsy drag queen and winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race in 2012, was in attendance at the weekend-long Pride Block Party. We look forward to seeing what kind of special guests show up this year. Here's to hoping for a visit from Elton John. Full schedule of events at pridenw.org.

sunday 16

Portland's naked bike ride may be over, but that doesn't mark the end of ridiculous bike events! Portland's weirdest cyclists gather on souped-up children's bikes in the middle of the night to participate in the decade-plus tradition of Zoobombing, a mini-bike luge in which riders hit top speed cruising through the West Hills. The event, which takes place each Sunday night, has become a freaky Portland tradition. Ride at your own risk. 8:30 pm. Free.

tuesday 18

Emily Wells

Haunting, hollowed-out vocals over synthesizer with jarring beats, Emily Wells mixes hip-hop and classical with a twisted sense of composure and a looping pedal. Combining Biggie Smalls and Beethoven makes Wells a hot commodity, a modern mashup artist who effortlessly manipulates looping technology and an affinity for vintage instruments. She puts on a one-woman show well worth the reasonable price of free. 6 pm. Music Millennium. Free.

friday 14

Tracy Morgan

Comedian Tracy Morgan has built his comedic reputation around being absolutely crazy. His portrayal of meathead celebrity Tracy Jordan on "30 Rock" is a direct reflection of Morgan's real-life shenanigans, including lots of inappropriate off-the-cuff comments, a diabetes diagnosis, legal troubles and a bonkers eight-year stint on "Saturday Night Live." His April appearance at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival was back to the controversial, expletive Morgan style, so who knows what he will bring to the stage in Seattle; isn't that half the fun? 8 pm. The Neptune. $34.
