"Shorts and Shades 10" + The Retrospective World Premier

SNOWBOARD—Catch the world premiere of Tre Squad's 10th installment of their snowboard film series, "Shorts and Shades" featuring crazy people snowboarding in beach wear. Dirksen Derby 10

DERBY— The Dirksen Derby is back and this year they are doing things a little differently. The weekend-long gathering of snowboarders, sit-skiers and splitboarders up on Mt. Bachelor is much more than a race. The official kickoff party on Friday night will be held at the Tower Theatre and will include a film and photo festival. Saturday night, don't miss the Derby Dinner and Broken Board Art Auction. Bid on art created by snowboarders on broken boards while getting down to music by Shady GroOve. Proceeds support Tyler Eklund, a local snowboarder seriously injured in 2007, as well as Oregon Adaptive Sports, Protect Our Winters, 1% For The Planet and the Central Oregon Avalanche Association. // Race: Fri.-Sun., Mt. Holiday Lights Winter Paddle Parade

LIGHTS—What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a light show? Join Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe for its annual holiday community paddle in the Old Mill District. Kayaks adorned with lights and decorations will paddle down the Deschutes, offering a light parade in true Bend fashion. Want to join in on the fun? Meet at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe between 2pm and 2:30pm to decorate your kayak or canoe and join the paddle up to Flag Bridge.
