What is amazing to me is the dumb chick with her trap open in the middle of the image and she is drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon. That shit is worse than Henry's. Who let her in ?
I lived the Bend drink and party scene from 1970 thru 1984 when I was 18 thru 32 and I am lucky that I survived it with establishments like the Palace, the D&D, Century West, TJ's, and the Woolen Mill. There were no micro breweries back then and I doubt that anything would be any different now. The only thing to me that would be different now is that the beer is better, but one thing remains the same, and that is barhopping and looking for babes and hooking up with babes. I miss the great Blues bands on Bond street like Robert Cray, Paul Delay and others that would awe us three night a week. The College will really bring the women. I think I might move back there next year !!
Tip, When I first started skiing it seems that an all day pass in 1971 was about $11.00 and the last mid week pass I had in 1981 was $260.00 and if the town was still running on a sawmill economy you would see far lower rates. But now with all of the $$$$ coming into the area and with the hill being run out of Utah, then why would the owners care about us broke old time locals when there is all of these people that have money coming out of their veins driving all of the prices up. To most of these people, buying a family season pass package is like buying a pack of chewing gum. The owners will run up the lift prices as high as the market will bear and they will leave nothing on the table. When you have the best snow in the state then you can have a whole bunch of posture. I just need to get creative and make more money cause there is nothing like being up there for the first trackless run on a perfect bluebird, 10 degree morning.
Tip, here are the 07-08 west coast comps. Heavenly valley $60.00. Squaw valley $69.00. Mt Hood meadows $54.00 (why go there ?) Stevens pass $54.00. Whistler $60.00.
I would also like to add that there is only one employer that knows how to treat employees as the number one most important part of a business and not a bunch of slaves as I so mentioned earlier. That employer is the one and only Les Schwab. All you need to do is go down to any of the tire stores, buy (and read) his book and you will know why everyone who works for that incredible company literally is on the run to help you. Read the book and you will know why everyone is so happy to be at work. If all employers used that idea no one would ever call in sick (even when there is fresh powder).
Big layoffs mean more hungry slaves to fill the low paying jobs. Remember JOB means "Jackass of boss" and until you have your own business you will only continue to work for someone else to build THIER dream.
