Starting on July 6, the Redmond Airport will add a Boeing 737-800 to its schedule—the largest plane to service the airport in its history.

Alaska Airlines is adding the 147 passenger plane, which will depart Redmond at 2:35pm and arrive in Seattle at 3:50pm. The return flight leaves Seattle at 12:30pm and lands in Redmond at 1:40pm. The aircraft will be serviced by Horizon Air. It has 12 first-class seats, 30 premium class and 117 coach, according to a City of Redmond press release.

Alaska said, "The Boeing 737-800 is focused on fuel efficiency and passenger comfort."

Alana Hughson, the CEO of Central Oregon Visitors Association said in the press release, "The greater Seattle area is a key destination market for Central Oregon, so COVA is thrilled to see Alaska Airlines will serve Central Oregon with the 737-800. This large jet, with two-cabin service, is a big plus for our tourism and economic development initiatives."

Zachary Bass, Redmond Airport director said they have done a lot of preparation at the airport to bring the larger planes in. "The additional capacity the 737 will add is a great benefit to the Central Oregon communities," Bass said in a statement.
