Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside, one of my favorite bands to come out of Portland lately, is playing a mid-morning gig at the OSU-Cascades Campus Center this Wednesday. I've seen Sallie and the gang a few times now and it's always super fun. Seriously. While the band might look like your average group of Portland hipsters, Ford's voice is straight out of the 40's and the men behind her rock out. Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside is the kind of band that you watch and suddenly realize you need to learn the Charleston. No matter what your mood or dancing abilities, it's hard not to start dancing - even if the show is at 11 a.m.
