If I were a tennis fan this would be absolutely great. Even though I am not a tennis fan I am sure there are a lot of people out there who are so this will be very nice for them. We need to diversify things even in the sports activities that are out there for the general public to participate in, not everyone can afford membership in clubs especially with times as hard as they are now for a lot of people. I hope this center is able to make a go of it.

I'm not sure if 3 stations is going to work out for this area but if we consider the rest of central Oregon (not just Bend) there is some possibility out there. I for one wish that Direct TV would carry local stations which it does not do and I am extremely disappointed because of that. When we signed up for Direct TV we were told that we would be able to get our local tv stations and that turned out to NOT be the truth. We wanted to get out of our contract when we found that out because that was one of my conditions with my husband for getting Direct TV. We could not get out of the contract so we are stuck with a 2 year contract that we are regretting because now I can't hear the local news like I wanted at all. My husband has said that when our contract is up we will go back to cable tv so we can get our local stations to. We both like to hear the national news but we also want the local news. No, we don't actually live in Bend although we have a Bend address we are about 5 miles south of Sun River and can't even get the local stations with an antenna where we are located. When we our contract is up and we go back to cable then maybe we will be able to view all 3 stations if they are all still around in a little over a year from now. I'm a KTVZ fan; I was here when it got started and always liked it but I am willing to check out the other stations if they are on Crestview Cable when we are able to get out of our contract. Crestview is the cable company for our area. Yes, I'm told that Dish network is out here and is carrying the local stations but they will have to prove it to us before we ever sign another contract with anyone. We know that Crestview Cable at least carries KTVZ and maybe it carries KOHD but I'm not sure of that. I hope the 3 stations are able to all find their spot in the market as our area is growing although times are poor for all of us right now.

Right now I would be happy for anything that created more employment. I am one of the 15% of the unemployed and I don't want to stay that way. Of course it would be nice to have something that created year round employment but at the minute I would even take seasonal employment that I could qualify for if necessary until a more permanent job opened up. I've never been on unemployment before in my life but now I am and I don't like it one bit. Thank goodness my husband is still working and is only unemployed one day a week.

    Re: “This Is No Reform
Both my husband and I never liked Obama and so we both actually voted republican this year. My husband is a registered Democrat and I am a registered Independent so I guess that might tell you something. We think that Obama promised much more then he could deliver and he knew he was doing that. While our health care system does need reforming desperately it still needs a lot more discussion then has been done on it and I want to know what is in that bill before it becomes law. Prove to me how it is going to benefit everyone. We are both against abortion so we do want that kept out of the bill for sure. Yes, we have a "handicaped" son whom we could have aborted but we are very glad we never believed in that option; he has proven to be the joy of our lives. As an old acquaintance of mine once told me "he is not handicaped, he is handi-capable" and she was so right. Obama has made a lot of promises that he should not have worded that way. He should have said something like he would try to do various things and not promised that he would get them accomplished because that is not always possible. Then of course he would have had a lot more support from others then he has now. It is not always possible for any president to get all of his goals accomplished but he sure can work on them. I think he meant well but just cannot deliver on his promises as it was to much to soon.
