Source Suggests 10/15-10/22

DJ QBert

Don't expect an evening of laptop-rock, QBert isn't that kind of DJ. He was a founding member of Invisibl Skratch Piklz, has been the subject of two documentaries, and is considered to be one of the Godfathers and masters of scratching technique. His rhythmic manipulation of records is unmatched and has been an inspiration for modern DJs the world over. 9 pm. Sat., Oct. 18. Astro Lounge, 939 NW Bond St. $5.

The Chop Tops

Southern California rockabilly doesn't get much more punk than the Chop Tops. With their snarling drummer/front man Sinner, a trio of Ricky Ricardo haircuts, and a revving motor of onstage energy, the band mixes blues, traditional country and punk rock in equal measure. Sun., Oct. 20. 9 pm. Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Dr. $8-10.

Graham Wilkinson

With a Nashville flair and a rasping warm baritone telling stories of his broken hearts and winding dusty travels, Texan Graham Wilkinson combines the rolling stone storytelling with honky-tonk, country, ska, and the meandering spirit of a troubadour singer songwriter. Wilkinson's music is simultaneously and effortlessly moving and toe-tapping. Wed., Oct. 22. 7 pm. McMenamins, 700 NW Bond St. Free.
