Kathryn Claire

Portlander Kathryn Claire's music sounds almost as Celtic as her name. Playing fiddle and guitar, and singing in a sultry and rounded alto, she mixes classical training with modern singer-songwriter storytelling for an intriguing and mellow blend. The show also happens to be on Claire's birthday, so expect an especially jig-worthy gig.

Thu., June 5 | 7 pm

McMenamins, 700 NW Bond St.

Free.

Spafford

Rooted in jazz, funk and experimental jam music, Prescott, Ariz., band Spafford has already started to build a varied online archive of recorded live shows in the vein of The Grateful Dead and Dave Matthews Band. Don't expect what you hear in recordings to be recreated note-for-note onstage. Extended jams, frequent improvisation and the happy hippie vibrations will have you dancing with your shoes off in no time.

Fri., June 6 | 9 pm

Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Dr.

$5.

"In My Life" Beatles Tribute

While Bend will have the opportunity to see one quarter of the most influential pop band of all time incarnate at the Les Schwab Amphitheater (Ringo Starr, July 17), the full dynamic foursome that was the Beatles is no longer. The next best thing is Abbey Road, a Beatles tribute band, that isn't letting the live performances from four dudes with mop-tops and ankle boots go by the wayside! The group will perform "In My Life," a musical theatre biography of the band as seen through the eyes of its manager Brian Epstein.

Mon., June 9 | 7:30 pm

Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St.

$35-$55.
